This week I want to show you some of the ways Google Slides can help you create digital resources and materials for students. Google Slides works just like PowerPoint, I think PowerPoint is actually easier to use, so most of the time I create my work in PowerPoint, then, I upload it to Google Drive which will convert it to a Google Slides Presentation. For my guided reading groups this year, I used the old fashioned questions that come with book studies and created Google Slides that asked those same questions, but with more interactive features. I used drag and drop items, tables, graphic organizers, and other features to make it more engaging than just answering questions 1-10. I sell these Google Slides on my Teachers Pay Teachers account, but for a limited time, I am giving them away on my blog. Hopefully this will help you see how you can use this feature and help you generate even more ideas! There are several ways to use this for math concepts, science, social studies, and writing. I just search Teacher Pay Teachers for ideas, then create my own.
When creating Google Slides sometimes the background options can get old or boring. However, there is a website that allows you to download pages of great backgrounds for FREE at Slides Carnival. I use this resource all the time and as long as you give them credit on the last slide you can even sell your creations on Teachers Pay Teachers. I have found that people are buying my Google Slides creations because so many classrooms are going digital and there are limited digital resources to match the many print resources on TPT.
Here are the links to the Google Slides presentations that I have created for my guided reading book studies. Feel free to use, share, or look at to generate your own ideas from the links below:
