Students love to have the spotlight. They want, need, and desire our approval and praise. This week, our school has been trying a new app, Flipgrid. Our site technology specialists challenged us to try out this new application and it was a blast! This FREE application allows your students to send you a video explaining their understanding, retelling you a story, or a multitude of other options. The videos can only be a max of 1 minute and 30 seconds long. Lessons are already developed for you or you can create your own. As a teacher, I loved going home and watching all the kiddos’ videos! It took just a small amount of time and it was so much easier than grading traditional papers. Plus, the students got a kick out of me being able to see, comment, and “like” their work. So I challenge you too, try out this great application! It really does give your students an authentic audience to perform for and it allows you to enjoy reflecting and observing their work in action.

Click on the link below to go to the website or download the app from the app store.
