It’s that time of the year again, we are all in test mode! As teachers, we track data all year long, but our data becomes so very important when we are determining what to teach in the limited time we have before the test. Today, I would like to share with you all 3 TEKS templates that I have developed to track mastery towards learning the standards. The great thing about these resources is that it involves the teacher and the students. It is so important for students to be part of the data tracking process. First, research supports this practice! Read any growth mindset research. Additionally, students cannot change what they don’t acknowledge. There are so many situations where I have initiated conversations with students about their data-strengths and weaknesses, and they honestly had no idea. With that said, please feel free to use these templates and morph them to fit your own state standards or needs. Despite the state standards, you use several of the concepts are so common, thus these resources are easily adaptable.
